Water and its use in industry

Nowadays water is often used in industry for heating, cooling, washing, cleaning, mixing and diluting. It is often mixed with chemical products and then rejected, with treatment or not, or recycled. The regulatory requirements, the rarity of water and its increasing cost, lead industries to look for new solutions in water treatment, more economic and more respectful of the environment.

Problems incurred by industry with water

Scale deposit, corrosion and the development of bacterial films are the principal problems faced in industry when using water. Some industries have replaced aggressive chemical products for the environment or persons by aqueous solutions which reinforced these problems.

Traditional way of water treatment

There are numerous methods of water treatment used in industry. Most of them require a lot of water, chemical products and energy. On one hand they are effective, but on the other hand they are expensive and/or toxic to the environment.
